The Albert Fox Demers Medal
The Albert Fox Demers Medal is the second highest award that the RAA bestows and was established in 1942 to recognize and stimulate interest in the welfare of the Institute by either alumni or friends.
John Knickerbocker 1886 provided the Albert Fox Demers fund as an honor to his classmate, and stipulated that the first medal be given to Mr. Demers for his loyalty and interest to the Institute.
Nominations may be made by any member of the Rensselaer Community and should contain a justification for the award. Recipients will be chosen by a committee of the RAA and approved by the RAA Executive Committee and by the President of the Institute.
The Albert Fox Demers Medal is evidenced by a certificate and a medal, which are presented by the President of the Institute, assisted by the President of the RAA. The presentation is made at the Annual Meeting of the RAA, or at a function determined by the RAA Board of Trustees. A maximum of four awards may be presented each year.
