E-Mail for Life
A Service of @RPInet, the Alumni Web Community
E-Mail for Life is an address at the @alum.rpi.edu domain that lasts a lifetime. No more worrying about sending friends and colleagues a new address each time you change Internet Service Providers give them one address that follows you wherever you go! Plus, you show your Rensselaer pride each time you send or receive e-mail. Select one of two levels of service: a free forwarding address, or enhanced, Web-based service for a nominal fee.
Free Forwarding: This service forwards e-mail sent to your @alum.rpi.edu address to another address of your choosing for free. The @alum.rpi.edu address stays with you no matter how many times you change ISPs. E-mail forwarding does not provide you with a mailbox or access to the Internet. E-mail forwarding does not store mail; it simply forwards it, but it does allow you to adjust SPAM filters and deal with any unwanted e-mail.
Enhanced Services: If you like to read your mail from a Web-enabled computer with Internet access; or if you would like to set up your E-Mail for Life account to be read via any POP3/IMAP/SMTP or WAP e-mail service, Rensselaer offers this service through Mail2World, Inc. at a nominal fee starting at $14.95 per year for 1 GB of storage. Additional services are available, including SMS service, video e-mail and additional storage space (at additional cost).
