Annual Father's Day Picnic for Incoming and Current Students, Alumni, Family and Friends
Sunday, June 15, 2008, from noon - 4 p.m.
Gather with fellow alumni, family, and friends at our fourth annual alumni family picnic on FATHER'S DAY, Sunday, June 15, 2008. The DFW Rensselaer Alumni Chapter has secured the Jackson Pavilion at Lake Grapevine from noon - 4 p.m. for a day of food & fun that can't be beat!
A variety of activities can be enjoyed under covered picnic areas or on the pavilion's surrounding facilities. But, the best part of the day, WE'RE DOING THE COOKING, so fathers and mothers both get the day off! Your alumni Chapter will cook up the burgers and dogs and supply soft drinks. We only ask that each family please bring a southwestern style side dish to share and any other beverages that you would like (no bottles). This is sure to be an enjoyable afternoon for all!
All of this is being offered to you for the nominal fee of $10 for adults. Children 18 and under are free. Current students, medal winners, incoming freshman, and their families will all be invited as guests of the chapter and may attend for free!
Please RSVP by Wednesday, June 11, using Visa or MasterCard online by visiting www.arpinet.rpi.edu/events or send a check made payable to DFW Rensselaer Alumni Association to Tony Tummarello at 940 Brittany Ct., Southlake, TX 76092. If you have questions, contact John Hamilton '73 at (817) 421-7486.

Dallas/Fort Worth Alumni Chapter Awarded The Chuck Monis ’50 Most Improved Chapter of the Year
Congratulations to the DFW Alumni Chapter for being awarded the Chuck Monis ’50 Most Improved Chapter of the Year Award. This award was created in 1988 by the RAA Board of Trustees to recognize the outstanding programs and activities of the regional alumni chapters. Chapter President John Hamilton ’73 and his leadership committee members will be honored with this award for their extra effort in increasing events and attendees, as well as engaging alumni in a new and effective way; via a personalized letter. Congratulations again, to the entire leadership committee, and thank you for your commitment, hard work, and dedication to the DFW Alumni Chapter.
Living in the SouthWest
Those of us who live in the beautiful state of Texas already know that living in the southwest isn’t just a matter of geography. It’s a state of mind.
To help us celebrate this wonderful state of mind, the Dallas/Fort Worth Alumni Chapter thought that “Living in the Southwest” would be a great theme for the year! Stay tuned to this Web site for more information on fun chapter events and activities created around what it is that makes us unique from fellow alumni in the north, west, even the southeast.
