Mark your calendar for a one-day conference titled “NanoBiotech 2008.” This year's conference will be held in the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY ($90 registration fee, $60 for Rensselaer alumni; free to RPI faculty, students and staff. There is no charge for a display table.). This is the fifth conference since 2003 in a series of international conferences pertaining to nanotechnology and biotechnology.

“NanoBiotech 2008” will highlight cutting-edge R&D and explore commercialization opportunities of nanotechnology, biotechnology, and related science and engineering fields. We have organized a multi-disciplinary conference that will offer networking opportunities to researchers from industry, government and academia; engineers; physicians; ethicists; environmental scientists; intellectual property practitioners; lawyers; business professionals; technology transfer specialists, policy makers, and venture capitalists.

Free lunch will be served to all attendees. Free parking for the conference is available in the RPI Parking Garage, located off College Avenue. The garage is a very short walk across a campus green from the conference venue. The garage will be open to attendees of the conference from 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

A Special Nanotechnology issue of Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology will be distributed. Issues of these journals will be distributed free to the first 100 full registrants. The conference will feature 20+ speakers, including 2 keynotes and a networking luncheon. All presentations (20-30 minute Power Points) will be fast-paced, focused and will rely upon extensive color graphics and animations to reach the diverse audience. Raffle drawings will be held throughout the day. The conference will be covered by Thomson Pharma and Thompson Reuters (http://scientific.thomson.com/).

The conference is limited to the first 200 registrants. The recommended hotel is Franklin Square Inn and Suites at (518) 274-8800.
