Career management in today’s environment is complex. This is not a market where you can just rely on your experience and/or your education to attract attention. Career advancement seekers need to be prepared and proactive to actively promote themselves.

We're very excited to announce the first annual RPI Alumni Networking and Career Development Night! This free, multi-city event will take place the week of March 24 - 27, 2008 in several US cities and promises to be a great chance for RPI alumni to network and advance their careers through discussions with other alumni. At each location, attendees will be responsible for purchasing their own food and beverages.

This will be a great opportunity to establish your own professional network with other local Rensselaer alumni. Many who participate in this type of networking consider their group an ongoing resource that can provide an informal sounding board to discuss new ideas , advance their careers, and connect with key players in their industry or profession.

Who's it for?

This event is for RPI alumni who want to:

• make new connections with other alumni in similar fields
• talk to other alumni about hot (hiring) companies
• compare job search strategies
• discuss career development ideas (MBA, management, etc.)
• help others make connection and get ahead

What to expect:

Everyone will have a chance (3-5 minutes) to address to the entire group in a relaxed setting and discuss their background, interests, and questions regarding job searches, contacts in targeted companies, tools/resources, career decisions, and other relevant items. Come with questions, and leave with connections!
