Thursday, June 5

Golf Outing, 10 AM to 3 PM

Dean Alan Cramb, School of Engineering will be our special guest.   Come and meet the Dean and enjoy a.scramble for all levels of play.  Price includes 18 holes, cart, food, and prizes. Note your pairings on the registration form, or foursomes will be assigned that morning. Arrive at 10 a.m. for continental breakfast, tee times begin at 11 a.m.  Question? Student Hosted Walking Tours of Campus, 2-4 PM

Walk the hills of campus to see venues such as the George M. Low Gallery, the Alumni Hall of Fame Windows, the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Experimental Media and Performing  Arts Center now under construction. Wear comfortable shoes!



Troy Bus Tour-"Silicon Valley of the 19th Century, 1-4 PM

Join Tom Carroll, PhD, Executive Director of the Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway to visit sites such as the Poestenkill Gorge, the Burden Iron Works Museum, and the remains of the Erie Canal. You'll hear how Rensselaer's history is intertwined with that of Troy and indeed of the country. This tour fills up fast!

All Class Dinner Cruise on the Captain JP, 6-10 PM

Music, dancing, fine food and the scenic Hudson River create the perfect setting for an evening with friends. Classes are seated together. Cash bar, casual dress. You may wish to bring a sweater. Transportation will be available from campus.

In honor of the 50th Reunion celebration, President Shirley Ann Jackson invites the Class of 1958 to join her for breakfast at the new Biotechnology Terrace.

Alumni College, 9:30 to 10:30 AM

    The Art and Science of Games and Simulation
Note: The Renaissance Fair is an open house so you should be able to attend both Alumni College and the Fair.

Renaissance Fair, 10:00 to 11:30 AM

You’ve heard about the “Renaissance at Rensselaer” – now see for yourself the extraordinary transformation taking place on campus.  Come to the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies where an array of displays, tours, and presentations will showcase not only advances in research, but also the new East Campus Athletics Village, the unique Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center, and the extraordinary impact that an increase in student scholarships and fellowships is having on student achievement at Rensselaer.

Lunch with the Deans 11:30 AM to 1 PM

Meet the deans to see how Rensselaer is enhancing innovation, education, and the arts at the school of your choice. Learn about the latest research advances in biotechnology, information technology, energy and the environment, and nanotechnology, as well as updates on the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center and existing plans for the East Campus Athletic Village.

Alumni Speaker Series 2 to 3:30 PM

Edward J. Zander, 60, is Chairman of the Board of Motorola, Inc., and a member of Rensselaer's Board of Trustees since 2006. We have the distinct honor of hearing from this extraordinary leader in the technology industry at Reunion 2008. Since beginning at Motorola in January 2004, Zander brought a wealth of experience and a keen understanding of the emerging challenges and opportunities in the communications space. He has successfully reorganized the company, overseen the introduction of several exciting new products and sharpened Motorola's focus on innovation and operational efficiency. Zander entered his position with over 25 years of experience in the technology industry.

Artist Open House, 3-5 PM

Dr. Pasquale Forni ’38 works will be on display in the Shelnutt Gallery in the Rensselaer Union.

Delta Tau Delta Reception for the Class of 1958, 3:30 to 4:30 PM

Class of 1958 50th Reunion Dinner, 6-10 PM

Join your classmates to celebrate your 50th with an elegant dinner at the Marriott in Latham. Dinner choices are New York Sirloin Steak, Atlantic Salmon, Chicken Madeira or Eggplant Napoleon.  Cash bar, business casual dress. You don't want to miss the special wine selection for this dinner!

President Shirley Ann Jackson's State of the Institure Address, 9:30 to 11:00 AM

Now in its 8th year The Rensselaer Plan remains the roadmap for Rensselaer's goals to acheive prominance as a top tier world class technological research university with global reach and global impac. Join Dr. Jackson as she presents the progress and accomplishments of the last year and marks another year of continuing our distinguished legacy while claiming our place among the leading universities of the 21st century.
Prior to Dr. Jackson’s presentation, all alumni are invited to attend the annual meeting of the Rensselaer Alumni Association. Immediately following the close of the annual meeting, Dr. Jackson’s State of the Institute Address will begin.

Parade of Classes, 11:15 to Noon

Experience this fun alumni tradition. Bring your whole family! Line-up will be just outside the Darrin Communications Center, near the Russell Sage Dining Hall. Which class will have the best bribe?

All Class Picnic and Clam Steam, Noon to 2 PM

Join your classmates in the Hassan Quad for the weekend’s largest and most festive event. Lunch includes barbequed chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, a variety of salads, watermelon, and steamed clams. Cash bar, casual dress.

Lego Robotic Program, 1:30 to 3:30 PM

Alumni, families, and children from pre-K through college age will learn science, engineering, and math concepts as they use Robolab software to program a LEGO device to execute simple commands. Three sessions. First-come, first-served.

Student Hosted Walking Tours of Campus, 2 to 3:30 PM

All Class Pool Party, 2 - 4 PM

This event at Robison Pool is planned with kids in mind. Pack your swimsuit!

Phalanx  Get-Together at the Rensselaer Union, 3-4 PM

50 Year Club and Class of 1958 Induction Ceremony and Dinner, 5:30-8:00 PM

The class of 58 is formally inducted into the 50 year Club at the Commons Dining Hall.

After Dinner Dance, 9:30-Midnight

Dance the night away while you enjoy either live music in the Heffner Alumni House or a DJ in the Rensselaer Union.
