Alumni can play an integral role in recruiting the most talented students to Rensselaer. For some areas below, training by the admissions staff is required.

  “Send Us One” program - help identify strong candidates for admission through newspaper articles, teachers, coaches, and friends.

  Host Regional Admissions Event - Host a group of prospective students and an admissions counselor in your home or place of business (in select regions).

  The Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) National Mentor Program – serve as mentor, team leader, sponsor or liaison to high school students, notably young women and minorities, in the regions of Baltimore, Chicago, Nashville, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., through this collaborative volunteer initiative.   College fair representative - represent Rensselaer at college fairs in targeted recruiting areas!

  Interviewer - help the admissions counselors by interviewing prospective students in your region.

 star Regional Manager - Coordinate regional alumni volunteers to cover admissions events; prior admissions volunteer experience is necessary.

Involvement Key:

 Minimal time commitment - either involvement in or hosting of a single event or program, or 10 hours or less per month time commitment. Travel to Rensselaer campus may or may not be required (according to specific program). A good way to get started.

 Requires time commitment of at least 10 hours per month and active participation in regularly scheduled meetings in region or on campus.

 Requires previous involvement with Rensselaer, 15+ hours per month and active participation in regional and/or campus meetings. Likely to involve some travel to Rensselaer campus. Many opportunities at this level are by invitation.

 Highest involvement level. Previous Rensselaer volunteer work and 20+ hours per month time commitment. Very likely to involve travel to campus. By invitation only.
